It also contains practical advice on prevention, risk factors, symptoms, screening programs, GP follow up, tests, investigations and diagnosis.Learning that you have bowel cancer can be overwhelming. The goal of this booklet is to help you get the best care and is designed to help you talk with your medical team about your best treatment options. Cancer tests and treatments recommended by experts in bowel cancer are discussed including information about monoclonal antibodies, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy drugs. The booklet also contains clear explanations about the different forms of surgery available to bowel cancer patients and useful tips on preparing for hospital and returning home.

The American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) have developed a Survivorship Care Plan template which contains important information about the given treatment, the need for future check-ups and cancer tests, as well as the potential long-term late effects of the treatment you received.
Understanding Bowel Cancer Comic
Bowel Cancer Australia has developed a new comic book to explain bowel cancer to children and loved ones. The comic, based on a real Australian family, tells the story of a young boy named Angus, whose mum was diagnosed with bowel cancer. It’s a great tool for getting the whole family together to talk about bowel cancer diagnosis, answer questions and learn together.

Postage and packing charges incurred by Bowel Cancer Australia - $10 per pack.Postage and packingWhile our patient information and resources are free of charge when sent via Australia Post as a regular parcel, we have included an indication of postage and packing charges should you choose to make a donation to contribute towards these costs to help stretch our charity dollar even further. If you choose to do so, please complete the relevant section when prompted.Please note, as a 100% community-funded charity, we try to keep our postage costs to a minimum with a one (1) patient information pack limit per order.If you are an organisation requiring more than one patient information pack or multiple copies of the same booklet and have a budget to cover postage, please let us know your desired quantity in the 'comments' field as indicated on the order form.Delivery informationPatient information and resources are sent via Australia Post as a regular parcel.
